Woman raped while boyfriend tied-up in another room

According to a police report, at about 12.15 am yesterday, the woman was asleep at her Couva home with her boyfriend when they were awakened by a loud noise.

The intruder, the report further stated was armed with a knife and gained entry to the room by breaking down its door.

He proceeded to drag the woman’s boyfriend out of the bed and tied him up before placing him another room. Th intruder then returned to the woman’s bedroom where he raped her. Police said the woman sustained minor injuries about her neck during the assault.

The rapist relieved the victims of their iPhone valued $3,000 and a Galaxy phone worth $1,500, before leaving the house. A report was made and the woman later medically examined and treated. Police said an arrest is imminent. Detective Sgt Kistow of Couva CID is continuing enquiries.
