Businessman among 63 arrested

He was detained by Northern Division police who later seized his 9mm pistol with several rounds of ammunition. After several hours of questioning, he was released pending further enquiries. Also, in the exercise officers arrested 62 persons for various offences such as robberies, rape, house breaking and outstanding warrants. Two hundred tickets were also served to errant motorists. Officers also detained four persons from the Laventille area who were the occupants of a vehicle with a bullet hole.

The four suspects were previously charged with firearm offences.

The exercise was led by Senior Superintendent Rajkumar and included Inspectors Vetus Hernandez and Mark Maraj, Sgt Peters, Matthew, Haywood and others.
