TT netballer Wallace signs for New South Wales

Wallace has signed a contract to play with the New South Wales Swift, based in Sydney Australia, for the new ANZ season which starts in November after emerging the top player in the Super League.

The 22-year-old, a dominant goal-shooter, claimed three awards at the end of the season in May-“Player of the Season”, “Coaches Player of the Year” and the “Fans Player of the Year”.

“I’m very excited to be going to play in Australia,” said Wallace.

“I was offered a twoyear contract but I decided to commit to one year, to keep my options open for the following seasons.” Wallace led Hertfordshire Mavericks to an impressive 10-4 record during the regular season this year.

However, Mavericks suffered a nail-biting 53-51 semifinal loss to defending champions Surrey Storm in the semifinal, followed by a 49-48 bronze medal loss to Team Bath.

“I know it will be different from England.

Their training are more intense,” said Wallace who ended the regular super league season as the second highest scorer with 438 goals from 491 attempts, but with the best shooting percentage among the top 10.
