U-20 ‘Warriors’ off to Panama camp

The junior Soca Warriors leaves for Panama City today to continue their preparation for the Caribbean Football Union final round of qualification for the agegroup World Cup which will be contested in Willemstad, Curacao later this month.

While in Panama, the junior Soca Warriors will play two games against cluib teams on Thursday and and Monday. as paret of their preparation.

The junior Soca Warriors will face Cuba in their opening game of the qualifying round on October 22.

CFU defending under- 20s the junior Soca Warriors are in Group A with host Curacao, Haiti Cuba and St Lucia.Top two teams in each qualifier will advance to the semi-finals and also gain automatic qualification the the CONCACAF zone final round to be played in Costa Rica in February. Williams said he believes the suad selected is the best available. He noted that some players have returned to the United States and England while others havge returned to their clubs and colleges.

Williams said a couple of players have been added since the last tournament, but the majority has been recalled. He said, preparations have gone on quite well but he is looking forward to the Panama training camp which he believfes will be critical and much needed before we go to Curacao., The 23 selected under-20s are: Jabari Brice, Denzil Smith (goalkeepers); Taryk Sampson, Kerron Mason, Kori Cupid, Isaiah Garcia, Keston Julien, Andrew Rullow, Noah Powder, Rondell Payne, Jacob Sooklal (defenders); Jabari Mitchell, Morgan Bruce De Rouche, Kareem Riley, Shane Sandy, Micah Lansiquot, (midfielders); Moses Jaikeran, Nicholas Dillon, Toafik Lucas Walker, Jarred Dass, Isaiah Hudson, Kathon St Hillaire, Josh Toussaint (forward).
