Hinds happy to meet Tobago bus drivers
However, the release said that Hinds and members of the board of directors and management of PTSC will be happy to meet with the drivers and their union on another occasion. Drivers have complained that the buses in Tobago were old and need to be replaced. The release said that a greater amount of time would be required to properly treat with the issues to be raised by the drivers.
Based on the itinerary prepared by the Ministry and Division of Infrastructure of the Tobago House of Assembly, the release said Hinds went to Tobago solely to meet with the relatives of those affected by Monday morning’s tragic accident involving a PTSC bus at L’Anse Fourmi.
One person died in the accident when the bus went over a precipice. Hinds also visited those injured and hospitalised at the Scarborough General Hospital. The release noted that the debate on the national Budget was currently taking place in the Parliament and Hinds was required to be back in Trinidad for the exercise.
