Samsung launches Smart HD TV
The Samsung Smart HD television, which has been described by retailers as ‘The Screen of the Future’ has been on shelves in Courts outlets throughout Trinidad and Tobago, for months, but was only formally launched yesterday. Angelo Marconi, Product Manager in the division of Picture and Audio for Samsung Panama, delivered the product presentation of the Definition and said that the launch marked the culmination of almost two decades of research and innovation from the Samsung company. Marconi also expressed his satisfaction with Samsung’s continued partnership with Courts.
“We at Samsung are constantly challenging ourselves to do better and for the past 10-years we have been the leaders in the market, it’s very difficult to maintain that spot.
Televisions have really evolved a lot from what they were years ago. They are no longer what people used to call ‘stupid boxes’, they have become quite smart and what we are doing here is finishing what we started 15-years-ago and we’re proud to have the Courts Megastore as the number one retailer of this product in the Caribbean.” Marconi said that the Samsung Definition now comes equipped with additional LCD Components, which enhances picture quality and incorporates the latest in Quantum Dot technology, which uses microscopic particles on the television screen allowing for cleaner images and light adjustment.
The Definition which comes available with curved screens, means that consumers can look forward to improved resolution and reduced reflections as opposed to flat screens that tend to distort images.
“It’s all a part of what we’ve been trying to achieve. Since last year we’ve been talking about Quantum Dot technology and making a better screen. We’ve also been focused on how to make the television easy to use, the Definition is equipped with a user-friendly interface, which would enable the user to have easier access to games, movies and social media. Also the television itself can be programmed to respond to one remote control which controls all features of the television, DVDs, Home Entertainment and Game consoles. All of this technology at your fingertips basically means that whatever you’ve had before isn’t a tv. This is a tv.” Speaking at the launch. Assistant Branch Manager of the Courts Megastore, Marcia Samaroosingh, said that she was pleased with Samsung’s partnership and looke d forward to further products in what has been a long and successful relationship.
“We really hope to continue that number one position that we have held. People are really amazed at what it is. It is indeed tv.” Samaroosingh added that each person purchasing a Samsung Definition will be eligible to win a trip to one of the eight wonders of the world.
