PM calls for shooter’s arrest

Roberts remains hospitalised after he was shot on Saturday evening while in the tray of a pick-up van campaigning with his supporters on Ramdass Road, Palo Seco. Rowley was asked about the incident when interviewed by reporters after casting his vote at the International School of Port-of-Spain, Westmoorings.

“Well these are disturbing developments,” Rowley said.

“I mean nobody wants the contest for office to get beyond the verbal exhortations and presenting yourself. And when violence of any kind intervenes in the election process it’s to be abhorred and regretted.” He reported that he saw a comment from the security authorities “about that most serious case in Palo Seco” where the violence may not be attributed to the campaign.
