TT in danger despite Mohammed’s 91
Jamaica were 148 for four in their second innings at the close of play yesterday for a healthy lead of 256 runs going into today’s play.
Resuming on 35 for two yesterday morning, the Red Force batsmen struggled at the crease with just Mohammed and Barbadian opener Kyle Hope (64) making any contribution of note. Skipper Yannick Ottley made duck.
Spin proved to be the Red Force batsmen’s undoing with “leggie” Damion Jacobs (4/61) and left-arm orthodox Nikita Miller (3/53) doing the damage.
Batting a second time, attacking West Indies batsman Jermaine Blackwood put the Red Force bowlers to the sword with a typical aggressive innings of 80 not out. Andre Mc Carthy chipped in with 28 as Jamaica closed on 148 for four.
Summarised Scores: SCORP IONS 314 (Andre McCarthy 82, Brandon King 78, Jermaine Blackwood 34, John Campbell 33; Roshon Primus 3-32, Jason Mohammed 2-16) and 148 for four (Jermaine Blackwood 80 not out, Andre McCarthy 28) vs RED FOR CE 206 (Jason Mohammed 91 not out, Kyle Hope 64; Damion Jacobs 4-61, Nikita Miller 3-53).
