TTCB agrees to postpone election again

Ramnarine had sought an injunction two months ago to stop the TT CB election but it was not needed as the TT CB Executive, led by its president Azim Bassarath, had agreed for the matter to resolved before the elections are held.

Ramnarine, Daren Ganga, Samuel Badree, Anil Kamal, Camal Basdeo and Clint Pamphile are arguing that certain articles of the TT CB constitution governing the election process are unconstitutional.

Bassarath is seeking a third consecutive term as president of the local governing body. The TT CB Executive is represented by Senior Counsel Fyard Hosein while SC Ramesh Lawrence-Maharaj is representing the Ramnarine slate.
