Maloney man shot dead

According to reports, shortly before 6 pm, the man was seen close to a car wash at Building Eight, Maloney, washing the white Hilux when several loud explosions were heard.

Police were alerted and when they arrived on the scene, they found the man’s body in the back seat of the vehicle.

The area was cordoned off and there appeared to be no identification on the man’s body. A district medical officer (DMO) was summoned to the scene but up to 7 pm yesterday, police were still awaiting the arrival of the DMO. Officers, led by Senior Superintendent McDonald Jacob and homicide officers were also at the scene of the country’s latest murder.
