Last DLP MP dies

Ramdeen was the father of well-known Catholic Chairman for Social Justice Leela Ramdeen .

He was also the cousin of the Leader of the Opposition the late Stephen Maharaj and great uncle to former Minister Devant Maharaj .

Ramdeen served as a member of the House of Representatives in the 1st Independent Parliament .

He was the dedicated father of seven. Ramdeen was also a barrister, author and former MP (Caroni) by profession .

One of his famous writings is entitled Cassandra. He holds steadfast on his views for liberating the oppressed. In a parliamentary personality interview he stated, “I like to fight for the underdog. If I join the top dog, I have no life.”
