Frankie determined to get better
Sources close to Khan told Newsday yesterday, “He is in very good spirits and improved state of health and has the will to get better.” They also indicated that Khan is of the firm belief that, “with mind, body and spirit in place, he will return to good health and be back at work.” At a news conference at the Diplomatic Centre in St Ann’s on Wednesday, following a twoday Government retreat there, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley disclosed that Khan will undergo “very serious surgery” on Sunday.
Rowley said Khan was not hospitalised at this time. “He’s at home, he has been examined by local doctors and has serious heart challenges.” Rowley also said, “I’m an optimist.
I am hoping and expecting that his surgery will go well and he will come back to his job after.” Finance Minister Colm Imbert has been acting as Energy Minister and will continue to do so until Khan is better. Khan fell ill in Thailand last month, where he and his wife Laura were on vacation.
They returned home last Thursday, “around noon.”
