RBC/West Penn Youth League kicks off in May

The event, which will launch on April 24, will feature Under- 18 and Under-15 boys and girls teams. Each player interested in playing in the 11-a-side tournament, must pay a registration fee of $25.

Goodwood Tigers are the defending champions in the boys Under-18 category, while Greenhill Bagatelle United will aim for the title again in the boys Under- 15 category. Girls did not compete in the tournament last year.

Matches will be played on weekends and public holidays throughout the country. Other than the action on the field, an outreach programme will be organised for the participants.

In the outreach programme the youngsters will learn about various topics including financial literacy, careers in sport and nutrition.

At the conclusion of the tournament a health fair will be held.
