Trouble halts Arima mas

Mayor of the Eastern Borough, Lisa Morris-Julien, who advised that it was best to bring yesterday’s revelry to a sudden halt assured that the action was for last night only and the police intends stepping up their checks when the celebrations continue today.

According to reports a man was shot in the stomach by another male reveller close to the popular night club, shopping and eating areas around Sorzano and Queen Streets.

The wounded man walked away following the incident, and police were checking hospitals, including the Arima Health facility, to see whether he sought medical attention.
Mayor Morris-Julien lamented last night that it took just a couple people to spoil the fun for so many.

“This is the first time such has happened in three years,” she observed. “But I am hoping that all will be well when we resume today.”
