Retired judge dies
Ibrahim served as a High Court judge for ten years before being elevated to the Appeal Court, where he served for another ten years.
After retiring, Ibrahim remained active in judicial matters and served for five years in the Bahamas Court of Appeal.
He sat on a commission of enquiry in St Lucia and returned to Trinidad as a temporary judge on the invitation of Chief Justice Satnarine Sharma.
Ibrahim presided over the second trial of Jamaat al Muslimeen leader Yasin Abu Bakr on a charge of conspiracy to murder two expelled members of his Jamaat, acquitting Bakr on a no-case submission.
In January 2015 he famously chaired the Commission of Enquiry into the Las Alturas Towers.
He also headed the investigative team to probe the death of baby Simeon Cottle, whose head was slashed during a C-section at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
The Law Association has promised a statement on his passing.
