Nazarite Sports advance to Courts InterZone T20 semis
Sent in to bat after Cunaripo All Stars won the toss, Nazarite Sports rattled up 174 for nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
The Marac Village’s Cooper brothers, Silas and Cephas; as well as the Smith clan, Megus (captain) and Macaine, provided solid support and produced useful scores that prove insurmountable for the visiting All Stars batsmen.
Silas Cooper was the dominant batsman once again as he did in the first round when he blasted a hurricane 93 that included eight sixes and four fours.
On Friday night, he was less severe on the bowlers but hammered four fours and one six in his 36. West Indies under 19 player Cephas Cooper was a steadying force at the top of the order with his 19 that contained two fours.
Kelvin Wilkes made 23 while Megus hit two sixes in his 21 and Macaine who also scored 21, had three fours.
West Indies Under 19 player Keagan Simmons was the main wicket-taker capturing three wickets for 36 runs from four overs while Valery Charles took two for 20.
Faced with a challenging victory target, Cunaripo All Stars were determined to fight all the way with Simmons being the allround hero.
He played a responsible hand and remained undefeated on patient 37 that contained one six and a four.
All Stars were struggling at 75 for five wickets after 12 overs.
But Simmons helped engineer a recovery to push the total to 145 for seven in their 20 overs.
Ravi Khan made 31 with three fours while Anderson Richardson stroked five fours in his 27.
