Dare to dream, Enterprise

I dare them to dream that there will be no concerns about safety, irrespective of on which street they live.

Enterprise people love to party and have a good time and would find any excuse to do so. I dare them to believe the entire community and environs can come together once again in unity and love.

I dare them to dream that fun times will return, such as community events in Dass Trace, Crown Trace, Bhagaloo Street and that they would attend these events without fear of being shot or hurt.

I dare them to dream that criminal activity will no longer be the norm and that the murder rate will decrease drastically.

Nigel Paul, who is from Enterprise, represented TT at the Olympics. That was a good moment for the community and I dare them to that more moments like that will come out of Enterprise and impact positively on us all.

I dare them to dream that anxiety, fear, and hopelessness due to rapes, murders, arson attacks and other heinous crimes will be removed.

I dare them to dream that the Malicious Damage Act will be enforced.

The Act states, “Any person who unlawfully and maliciously sets fire to any dwelling house, any person being therein, is liable to imprisonment for life.” Arson is defined as the malicious burning of another person’s dwelling. It is the criminal act of burning or charring property on purpose. While most people consider arson to be the burning of buildings, it may also be the burning of cars, boats, personal property, and land.

While most people consider arson to be the intentional setting of fires, reckless behaviour that leads to the destruction of property by fire may also lead to arson charges.

I dare them to dream that the following scriptures will be enforced in the Enterprise area: 1. Leviticus 24:17 — “Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.” 2. Deuteronomy 5:17 — “You shall not murder.” 3. Matthew 5:21 — “You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘You shall not commit murder’ and ‘Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.’” The negative influences will never be completely destroyed, but we can continue to dream.
