Sweaters annual 5K and 10K a success
The cool temperature made for ideal running for those taking part in the 5K, while the 10K runners were unfortunately drenched by a late-afternoon downpour .
Winning the Men’s 5K was Jamal Cupidoe, ahead of Otis Barker and Nicholas Romany .
Topping the Women’s 5K for the second straight year was April Francis. Taking second place was Camille Lewis, and Patricia Sorias came third .
Guyanese Kelvin Johnson retained his crown in the 10K ahead of Boris Garcia and Brian Maynard. Among the women, Chanel crossed the finish line first, leaving in her trail last year’s champ Leisl Puckerin, who had to settle for second place. Melissa Lockhart Polaih took third spot .
There were also prizes for Oldest Male and Female participants, with Saran Hanooman, 80, and Theodora Alexander, 75, taking the honours. Alliyah Alcindo, seven, was the Youngest Female .
