No major damage in Diego Martin

“One of the biggest problems we (the corporation) encountered during our efforts was that a lot of the roofs of homes were blown off and this was largely due to the fact that these homes were not properly constructed in the first place. This is not the first time that we have seen this and residents need to not only adhere to the codes on how to build their homes but also look at where they build their homes.

He said while landslides and flash flooding did not occur to any great extent, there were several fallen electricity poles which left several communities without power.

He also commended officials from the National Commission for Self Help for their quick response to residents whose homes were damaged by strong winds.
