9 St Michael’s boys still on the run
The inmates were discovered missing on June 13 after none could be found in their rooms or on the compound.
It is beleived they escaped along a large ravine behind the home, from where they could have accessed several streets.
Western Division police carried out a search and visited the last recorded addresses of the boys. The two boys, who were found by police walking along Cantaro Extension Road a few days later, refused to give information on the whereabouts of the other escapees.
Police believe the missing nine are hiding in Santa Cruz and San Juan. Police believe the inmates may have contacted relatives who have been asked to encourage the boys to return to the home. The boys, who are in their late teens, were placed at the home for a range of fences including robbery, while one escapees is at the institution for his alleged involvement in the robbing and murder of former soldier Calvert Dexter James during J’Ouvert
