TT senior men 5th; Cuba seniors sweep

Cuba senior men took the gold after defeating Venezuela 10-4 in the final. Cuba also won the Senior Female category, thrashing Mexico 8-1 in the final.

On Tuesday, Team TTO thumped Dominica 12-3, booking a spot in yesterday’s fifth place playoff versus Jamaica, who got past Costa Rica 10-7 in their contest.

The majority of TT ’s goals against Domnica came from Kieron Emmanuel who scored six while Matthew George added two. Adrian Hinds, Leon Daniel, John Littlepage and Justin Bodden all got on the scoresheet for TT with one goal each. Lucas Estrella scored all three of Dominica’s goals. Team TTO then edged Jamaica 9-7 yesterday to finish the tournament on a winning note. Leading the way for TT in goals was Kris Thomas who had a hat-trick while John Littlepage and Matthew George both notched a brace. Kieron Emannuel continued his form by getting on the scoreboard while Leon Daniel scored one as well. Jean Claude Write scored three for the Jamaicans in the clash.

TT ’s coach was proud after the win, noting that his team was fitter than their Caribbean rivals and believes they should have won “by five or six goals”. Cuba were crowned senior male champions after defeating Venezuela 10-4 in the title match. Angel Rojas scored two for the Venezuelans, however, his attempts proved futile as Ivey Arroyo and Yohandry Andrades matched his contributions and the Cubans never looked back.
