Shot in May, Chinese cook dies at hospital

In May, Ma was in the kitchen of his restaurant when he heard a noise coming from the waiting room. Upon investigating, he was confronted by a group of armed men who shot him once in the chest. The assailants fled and one of Ma’s relatives called the police. Members of the Sangre Grande Criminal Investigations Department went to the scene and took Ma to the Arima General Hospital. Ma is the the fourth Chinese national killed in Trinidad in less than a month.
