Rowley mourns deceased PNM councillor

Rural Development and Local Government Minister Kazim Hosein made this announcement as he extended condolences to Bruno’s family and friends.

Newsday understands that no decision has been taken at this time regarding a date for a bye-election for the Barataria district.

Sources within the the ruling People’s National Movement (PNM) said the party’s attention right now is supporting Bruno’s family through this difficult time and honour Bruno’s memory.

The sources said that at the appropriate time, the party will turn its attention to determining a bye-election date, screening candidates and staging a campaign.

One source explained that this was the only decent thing to do under the circumstances.
