Caribbean Welders to sponsor Frederick for England tour

Frederick, a student of St Benedict’s College, was outfitted for the tour by the Arima-based Caribbean Welders which sponsored a helmet, gloves, a bat, pads and other equipment.

Peter Park, Managing Director of Caribbean Welders, wished Frederick the best as he looks to make an impression on the European continent. Park urged Frederick to continue striving for excellence and make the Fishing Pond community proud.

Frederick, who represents Barrackpore United in the local club league, is a left-arm spinner who is also adept at bowling the “chinaman”.

He has best figures of five for 71 from 22 overs.

The SSCL team will be heading to Cornwall first where they will play three games. Their tour shifts to Somerset for a tournament at King’s College. And their trip climaxes in the capital with two games in London. The tour is at the invitation of Malcolm Broad of Cornwall who has been coming to Trinidad with a youth team for the last 22 years around Easter.
