bmobile and TTSL take local club football to new heights via live streaming

The pair has teamed up to exclusively provide spectators of this nation’s exciting semi-professional league with live streaming of competitive matches. By downloading the football application (app), mycujoo, bmobile and the TTSL will be able to provide fans with a free seat inside the stadium by way of their smartphones and internet connectivity. This innovative platform will aid in developing local clubs by creating a new avenue for support whilst simultaneously promoting the work of the TTSL.

TTSL Secretary, Camara David, played an integral part in the introduction of this fresh concept of football marketing to Trinidad and Tobago. He affirmed that the implementation of new creative technological ideas such as these would supply a more modern channel of sport marketing throughout the region.

“bmobile and mycujoo have provided a football platform to do live streaming of TTSL games. For us to host the actual streaming, we simply need a cell phone, internet access, a laptop and the app. The cell phone does the visual recording of the game through the mycujoo app while the laptop serves as a studio/server. Once a person goes online to the mycujoo website (https://mycujoo.tv), they can click on ‘TT Super League’ and the live stream begins. It’s that simple. This now makes it possible for anyone within the Caribbean region to view these matches as they happen,” David explained.

This state-of-the-art app was created in Switzerland and is currently used in the same regard by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) and several major football associations worldwide, such as the Brazil Football Confederation and the Royal Dutch Football Association.

Camille Campbell, Vice President of Marketing at TSTT, commended the TTSL on this contemporary advancement.

Through mycujoo, local clubs can create their own ‘TV’ or channel by live streaming their own games. This creates a new avenue to promote their work on the world stage and opens the door for international agents/scouts to identify players for selection without the hassle of travel. Also featured on the app are scoreboards, timers, replays and all statistics of the ongoing match.

Communications Manager at mycujoo, Ben Dudley, expressed elation with this innovative idea for the region. He reflected on some of TT’s legendary footballers and remained optimistic that advancements such as these would help pave the way towards generating future national talents.

Since the start of the TTSL 2017/2018 competitive season on June 11, live streaming has gotten underway. According to David, who was appointed to the TTSL executive in January, testing of the service has already kicked off and the quality of streaming has been quite impressive.

He closed by saying, “Broadcast rights is the driver for football all over the world and this is just TT’s version of it. Over the next two years, we are going to be pushing this idea and raising the awareness of it as we get it off the ground and running. I see this as a good avenue to help carry Trinidad and Tobago football to another level.”
