Correction
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea, in a press release, announced that the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) awarded a scholarship to Trini student Deisha Hamilton to pursue a Master’s Degree program in South Korea. The NIIED Scholarship was selected on the basis of academic merit and will cover the full cost of study for three years. The NIIED, the Embassy explained, offers the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) to foreign students who wish to further their studies in Korea. The NIIED has offered the KGSP to students of Trinidad and Tobago at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD levels since 2013. For this year the Embassy congratulated Hamilton who was chosen to pursue a Master’s Degree in International Studies at Yonsei University with an additional one year allocated for Korean Language Program at Konyang University. Newsday regrets the error and any inconvenience it may have caused.
