Cutlass found near human torch site
La Rosa, 37, died at the scene while Clifford Samuel, 52, remains warded in critical condition with burns to 70 percent of his body .
An autopsy performed by Dr Hughvon des Vignes on Wednesday confirmed that the woman died of smoke inhalation and burning. The pathologist told Newsday that the woman’s body was badly burned and she may have fallen on the spot where she transformed herself into a human torch with gas. Relatives and witnesses told Newsday that the two were heard arguing at the house, which was located in an open compound with about five houses .
While people were hearing the commotion, the faint smell of gas was noticed, then there was a explosion .
La Rosa and Samuel could both be heard screaming out in pain, then Samuel was seen running out from the back of the compound with his entire body on fire. Samuel ran to the front of the house before falling in a nearby drain .
The fire which started as a result of the altercation, gutted the house that they were in, along with two other houses. Eight people were displaced in the fire. Relatives were yesterday too distraught to speak to members of the media, but in an earlier conversation some relatives did not believe he would survive his injuries
