Cain fails to advance at Para Champs 200m

Cain, who copped bronze in the women’s T44 100m event on Monday, finished fifth, and last, in heat two of round one and did not qualify for the final. Cain stopped the clock in 29.55 seconds.

Winning the heat was German Irmgard Bensusan in 27.50, followed by Fleur Jong of Netherlands in 27.59 and Sara Andres Barrio of Spain in 27.93. Canadian Marissa Papaconstantinou also qualified for the final when she ended fourth in 28.33.

Akeem Stewart of TT will compete in the men’s shot out F43/44 final today. On Tuesday, Stewart won gold in the men’s javelin F44 event and broke his own world record.
