Culture Tonic wins Pavi kaiso
Culture Tonic, dressed in red suit and sporting dreadlocks sang Light De Boulifee to take the first prize of $6,000 courtesy the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organisation (Tuco).
Placing second was Sonja Guevara who sang Looking Forward while Obioma Bankole came third with When Right is Wrong.
For their effort, they received $4,000 and $3,000 respectively.
However, popular with the crowd was Akil Ryan who was placed fourth with Gyal Taker.
He was voted best stage performer and most humorous.
Another popular competitor was Wayne Cooper whose Pony Rider earned best party song. He placed sixth.
Nine calypsonians participated in the 12th edition of the competition though Pavi has been doing it for three decades.
