Two more die on the roads

TWO people, including a 17-year-old boy, have been killed on the roads over the weekend, police said.  The two dead have been identified as Rajesh Karim Mahabir, 17, of La Mango Road, Maracas, St Joseph, and Keith Pierre, 36, of Fort George Road, St James.

Western Division police said around 3 pm on Sunday, Pierre was riding his motorcyle along the North Post Road, Diego Martin, when he collided with a vehicle which was proceeding in the opposite direction. Pierre, police said, was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (PoSGH) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  Officers of the West End Police Station visited the scene and WPC Charles is investigating the incident. In the Mahabir road accident, police said around 10.30 pm  on Friday the young man was crossing the road in the vicinity of Valpark traffic lights, Churchill Roosevelt High-way, when he was struck by a vehicle in which there were two occupants.
