Chairman: COSTAATT will not discriminate
In light of the recent publicity that COSTAATT has been getting, Mr Trevor Boopsingh, chairman of the Board of Trustees, stated that COSTAATT “did not have and has never had” any discriminatory recruitment policy on the basis of race, religion or gender.
Speaking at the college’s graduation ceremony on Saturday night, Boopsingh also cautioned the person or persons responsible for the recent fires at the institution. “The Board will not tolerate any criminal activity within COSTAATT whether it be arson, theft or fraud,” he said. “I assure you that the full weight of the law will be brought to bear on anyone who is found guilty of any such criminal behaviour,” he added.
At the ceremony, 485 students graduated and received certificates in 25 of COSTAATT’s 36 Associate Degree Programmes. The programmes are offered through the college’s Divisions: Agriculture and Natural Resources Management, Business and Information Technology, Nursing and Health Sciences, Engineering and Applied Technologies and Liberal Arts and Human Services. Several persons received advanced diplomas in Medical Ultra Sound and 22 others for their academic achievement. Among these were Savitri Bahal, an Environmental Technology graduate, who received the highest grade point average. The ceremony’s honoree was Albert Skair, who is head of COSTAATT’s Public Health and Safety Department.
