Maxi goes up in flames

A SPARK from a welding machine yesterday caused a maxi-taxi to erupt in flames.

The incident occurred around midday while a straightener was doing repairs to a green-band maxi-taxi at Scorpian Srivfe, Chase Village, Freeport. The maxi-taxi, which operates from Chaguanas to San Fernando, is owned by Willimsque Tobias of Valencia. According to reports, the straightener had stripped the maxi-taxi of its upholstery. While he was doing some welding on the vehicle, a spark triggered a fire. No one was injured but the maxi-taxi was destroyed. Freeport police are continuing investigations.
