Arima police recover ski masks and ammo

ARIMA police have recovered ski masks and a quantity of ammunition at an abandoned house off Pinto road which they believe could help them solve several robberies, hold-ups and rapes along the East-West corridor. 

Seized were three ski masks, 12 rounds of 12 gauge ammo and 15 rounds of 9mm ammo. At around 10 am yesterday, acting on a tip-off police went to an old abandoned house on Trainline Avenue, Pinto road, Malabar, where they discovered the items hidden in a corner.

A complete search  of the place was made resulting in the discovery of a few documents that have led to the identification of the owners of the masks and ammunition.The illegal items were siezed and carried to the Arima police station.

When Newsday visited the Arima station police confirmed they have the identification of the two suspects who own the items and the crimes they are involved in. The police also confirmed that an arrest is imminent. Visiting the scene were Insp Samuel Bullin, Sgt Arlene Forde, Cpl Eric Parks and Cpl Rene Katwaroo. Cpl Katwaroo is spearheading inquiries.
