Laventille man shot in eye over gun

A Laventille man is now resting comfortably at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital following three shots to his right eye, the result of an argument with five men over a gun. According to reports, Hayden George, 26, was at his Dan Kelly Village, Laventille home sitting in his living room around 1 pm Tuesday when five men walked inside and began arguing with him about a gun. During the disagreement, three shots rang out and the men ran off. The bleeding man was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he underwent surgery. Up until press time, George was said to be resting comfortably. Police said the shooting is gun, gang and drugs-related. Cpl Rowley of the Besson Street Police Station is investigating.
