Laventille man murdered
Early yesterday morning Michael Casel, 20, was lying on a mattress at his one room home at Quarry Street, Laventille, with his common-law wife Nicolette Macintosh when two men burst in firing shots. Both Casel and Macintosh were shot. Casel, an alleged gang member, who was shot in the hand, armpit, leg and chest, was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he died on the operating table. Macintosh was warded after a bullet was removed from her arm. Investigations revealed that the murder was revenge for shooting of another gang member the night before in the same area. Cpl Rowley is spearheading enquiries.
