From Canadian university to walk up the Trini aisle

Canon Steve West officiated at the marriage of Trinidadian Aba Bowles-Mortley to Matthew Edward Bailey of  Carp, Ottawa, yesterday at All Saints Anglican Church, Marli Street,  Newtown.

The 23-year-old bride was introduced to her 24-year-old husband during their first year at Queen’s University, Canada, by a mutual Canadian friend, Sam Rogers, and the courtship continued through their four years at university.  Aba, daughter of Cheryl Bowles, founder of the Cher Mere Line of Beauty Products and Basil Mortley, was given in marriage by her grandfather, Vincent Bowles.  Matthew is the son of Jean Campbell and Ronald Bailey. Following a reception at the Cascadia Hotel in St Ann’s, the couple travelled to Grenada where they will spend their honeymoon.  They will live in Kingston, Ontario.
