Trinis earn cultural scholarships
THREE CITIZENS who recently earned scholarships to pursue studies in Caribbean Culture and Society will be presented at media briefing today at the Ministry of Community Development and Culture at 11 am. The trio, Candice Hughes (Sangre Grande Civic Centre Combined), Ebony Paul (Point Fortin Friends Creative Theatre) and Adana Smith (Sando Cultural Ambassadors), were selected to pursue a six-month course in Caribbean Culture and Society, sponsored by students in the Pacific Lutheran University of Tacoma, Washington, Study Abroad Programme, which will be conducted at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus from today. The scholarships were the result of a press advertisement recently for applications from young persons between the ages of 18 and 22 who participated in the Prime Minister’s Best Village competition.
