Central cops seize two shotguns
Two sawed-off shotguns and a quantity of parts believed to be used in making guns were seized during an exercise carried out by officers of Central Division yesterday. Around midday, a party of officers led by PC Pierre, executed a search warrant and seized two shotguns at the home of a 35-year-old man. Officers also seized a quantity of parts used in making guns and detained another man. Police believe the home-made sawed-off shotguns were being manufactured at the home of the man and then sold to any member of the public for prices from $5,000. Police believe that with the arrest of the man and his accomplice, a number of crimes involving the use of sawed-off shotguns will be solved. The same officers then went to the home of a 40-year-old man in Tabaquite and seized another sawed-off shotgun and two 12 gauge cartridges.
