Aston security is ready for crime
With the introduction of Government’s new 21st Century Policing Policy here in TT, the operations of a major stakeholder in the industry throughout the region, Aston Enterprises Limited are currently being examined.
In 2010, Aston Enterprises Limited was established as dedicated suppliers of individual operational equipment and homeland security related solutions. Its subsidiary, AE Tactical was created to become the largest specialised supplier of military and law enforcement equipment and training to governments and corporate entities within the Caricom region.
Managing director Luke Hadeed said its products and services span from personal body armour systems and uniforms to the supply of training services for special operation teams and development programmes for qualified security professionals.
“We partner only with organisations that can efficiently meet the demands of these specialised services, by providing equipment and solutions that are not only affordable, durable and functional, but coupled with complementary training and after sales services through AE Tactical,” he said.
From armour to uniforms, communication and monitoring equipment, duty and non-lethal gear, training solutions and mobility, this company has secured exclusive rights to distribute many of the leading brands in the industry, including: 5.11 Tactical, Blackhawk, Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP), Eagle, Surefire, Aegis and many more.
“Unfortunately, crime is always a hot topic and we have chosen to enter the conversation as a provider of top-quality solutions to the problem. By introducing the latest technological developments in the industry, we can place our security personnel, police and military forces a step ahead of the criminals who prey on our developing nations — and hopefully, stem the tide of their operations in the region. If our personnel are better prepared and better equipped to deal with the menace of crime, then it follows that we should see better results,” Hadeed said. Asked for his thoughts on the new policing initiatives, Hadeed described it as “work in progress” and asked the population to “support the changes that have been put into effect thus far”.
“It’s a process of change which has only just begun, so we can’t expect to see results immediately. We have to give the authorities some time to streamline these initiatives and then we can observe what kind of impact these policies have on the crime situation. It’s too early to even comment on it, but I will say that the overall idea is a step in the right direction.
“We needed change within the police force and it began with the appointment of the new commissioner and is trickling down through the service.
“There’s no way we could expect to change the crime situation, if our officers are stuck in the same uniforms, using the same equipment and working in the same way that they have for decades,” Hadeed said.
AE Tactical also affiliates with a local indoor training facility, which houses state of the art equipment that includes a fully computerised trolley system, which allows for simultaneous training of a number of personnel. These facilities include a classroom area for further development exercises and can facilitate training on a range of weapon systems.
With their headquarters located in the New Trincity Industrial Estate, Trincity, Aston Enterprises Limited offers a dedicated showroom for the display and demonstration of all its products and is prepared to deal with all enquires and the increasing demands of the security industry.
“We continue to develop our capacity to meet the ever-changing demand of the industry and will remain dedicated to working with our clients to produce the best solutions possible. We also provide a forum that allows all involved parties to interact and redefine ideas and directions in the planning stages at our facilities and allow testing and evaluation of our products.
We remain active in bringing the most reliable and field tested equipment to market and will continue to innovate and introduce new lines to our client base through continued seminars, demonstrations and displays,” Hadeed said.
