Artistes to ‘Rock the River’ in Blanchisseuse
The artistes are part of a two-day line up called Rock the River, that will steep the audience in an environmental experience. On Saturday, there will be a small hike to reach the performance space in a bamboo clearing on the banks of the Marianne River, on route to the Three Pools waterfall. Patrons can bathe in the river while taking in performances.
On Sunday the action moves to the Marianne Beach, under the almond trees where the river meets the sea giving patrons the choice of a river or sea bath.
The Red Earth Festival aims to encourage environmental awareness through the arts and other activities including beach clean-ups, turtle watching, star-gazing, nature tours, clay workshops, poetry and music performances.
The Festival is organised by the non-profit organisation, Red Earth, with sponsorship support from Ministry of Community Development, FLOW, TDC, Creative Ideas printers, Guardian Holdings Ltd and Classic Bake Bakeries.
