Narindra releases ‘Saude Bazi’

Recently Raghubir teamed up with Canada-based Bollywood singer Jonita Gandhi at Rafi Mohammed’s Mother’s Day concert which took place at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya.

The two artistes were new to the stage but are both considered versatile singers by promoters in Trinidad and in Canada. Raghubir did not disappoint his fans as he belted out several Bollywood tune, “Tuch Meh Raa Vika Hai.”

Raghubir has been in singing at house parties and villages function for just over a year.

“I know this is what I want to do as a career I want to be able to entertain people. And I decided to spend a lot of time researching other artistes from here and of Indian, UK and of course Hollywood,” he stated, noting that it is after many years of being on stage that the popular acts like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Abhijeet as well as Shaan and TT’s own Raymond Ramnarine, are able to truly reach their audiences.

Encouraged by his father, Raghubir started off singing simple calypso and soca. He later graduated to Bollywood and folks songs for local audiences. Blessed with a melodious voice Raghubir experimented with karaoke before approaching musician Bobby Mohan of the band Workshop 868.

Raghubir joined the band “Workshop 868” as a vocalist and has released the tunes, “Stop D Macoing,” “Ride It,” “Jai Ho,” “Mere Dil Mein” and “Zindagi.”

“Bobby was willing to work with me in doing songs from yesteryear and today. He took the time to help me with timing and pronunciation and soon I was taking over the microphone,” he said.
