Schoolgirl shot in leg

A seventeen-year-old student is nursing a gunshot wound, after unknown gunmen opened fire on a house she was visiting at the time of the incident. Reports state that Nicole Alexander, a student of St Joseph’s College, was at a house on Straker Lane, Tunapuna on Friday night, when a car with several occupants opened fire. Alexander was shot in the leg, before the gunmen drove off. The injured student was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where she remains warded in a satisfactory condition. Officers of the Tunapuna Police Station are continuing investigations.
