Caught with ‘coke apparatus’

A 45-year-old man of Harris Village, South Oropouche, is expected to appear before a Siparia Magistrate tomorrow to answer to charges for possession of apparatus for drug use.

Around 4.25 pm on Friday, while Oropouche police officers were conducting enquiries along St Mary’ s Village, South Oropouche they observed a man who they had an outstanding warrant for, walking along the Main Road. The suspect on sighting the officers began to briskly walk on the opposite direction of the patrol car. The officers gave chase and held him a short distance away. Upon searching him the officers discovered in his front left pants pocket a device used for smoking cocaine. The man was then taken to the Oropouche Police Post where he was arrested and charged by PC Anil Boodlal.
