Cedros man in court for Probation officer’s murder
A 21-YEAR-OLD Cedros man appeared before a Pt Fortin magistrate yesterday charged with the murder of his teacher’s daughter, 23-year-old probation officer Krista Lakpatsingh.
The victim, who worked at the courthouse where the accused appeared, was found with her throat slit at her home last week. An autopsy report revealed that Lakpatsingh died from shock and haemorrhage due to multiple stab wounds. Jason Hosten, of Bamboo Village, appeared before Senior Magistrate Herbert Charles in the Point Fortin Magistrates Court. Dressed in a blue plaid shirt and black jeans, Hosten stood quietly and watched the magistrate as the charge, laid by Sgt Jimmy Palloo, was read in court. The matter was adjourned to February 9.
