Mom, son post $.25M bail for ‘ganja’ charge

A PETIT VALLEY woman and her son were yesterday granted a total bail of $225,000 by a  Port-of-Spain magistrate for charges of marijuana possession.

Yvonne Otley, 67, and Andre Otley, 40, both of Simeon Road, Petit Valley, were granted bail in the sum of $75,000 and $150,000 respectively when they appeared before Magistrate Avason Quinlan at the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court. They were charged with the possession of 1.048 kilos of compressed marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. The two were arrested on January 23 following a search of their home by a party of officers attached to the Four Roads CID and subsequently charged by PC Marcus Jupiter. The matter was adjourned to February 5.
