Tobago interested in natural gas

THE TOBAGO House of Assembly (THA) feels the use of natural gas is the right way to go to help boost the island’s economy and lessen its dependence on the volatile tourism sector.

Chief Secretary Orville London said the THA was looking at the possibility of natural gas being used to enhance the electricity supply, providing cheaper energy to hotels. According to London, the THA is in the midst of encouraging discussions with interested stakeholders on the effective use of natural gas. London observed that certain people were making pronouncements that had absolutely nothing to do with the real situation in Tobago.
