Pastor: Youths to be saved from devil on Saturday

EVANGELICAL PASTOR Vernon Duncan yesterday declared that Saturday’s Liberation Day celebration would be a day when the “saved” youths of the nation, would come together in prayer and worship to try to combat what the devil was trying to do to the country. Pastor Duncan declared this while ministering to over 300 worshipers and church ministers from across the country, who had gathered at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain for a prayer breakfast hosted by the Youth for Christ of Trinidad and Tobago. The prayer breakfast was held to set the stage for the organisation’s “National Liberation Day” to be held next Saturday.

The Day’s proceeding would get on the way at 1 pm with a rally moving from the Brian Lara Promenade, to Wrightson Road, eventually coming to a conclusion with a prayer and worship session at the Jean Pierre Complex. On arrival there, patrons will raise their voices in songs of worship and prayers for the nation’s youths, school violence, leaders in the government and opposition and for the country on a whole. At the prayer breakfast yesterday, Pastor Duncan explained that on Saturday “the spirit shall hover over the nation and all the activities taking place here.” Pastor Duncan also took the time to make a prayer call that the nation’s leaders may all be influenced by the Holy Spirit, so that they may make decisions that would glorify the nation.
