EMA Police visit Penal bars

Led by Cpl Forde and including PC Isaac, WPCs Martin and George, the officers visited popular liming spots in the heart of Penal like “Treasure Queen,” SkyLab Restaurant,” “Cheers Pub, Bage Bar, and Boyo’s Mini Mart and Bar which according to officers were often the subject of complaints from persons, about loud music. Speaking with Newsday yesterday, Forde explained that their exercise was even more important during the season..

He said: “There have been numerous complaints about the noise levels coming from some business places in Penal, and so officers down here invited us to come and meet with bar owners.”

He continued: “In one case, we were able to set a decibel level for the owner to play his music. He asked us do so so that he can stay within the law. We also spoke to bar owners and distributed packages which gave them all the information they needed, on noise variation.” The EMA police were accompanied by officers of the Penal Police Station.
