Police investigate ecstasy ring in disappearance of central schoolgirls
CHAGUANAS police are investigating an “Ecstasy ring” in the disappearance of two central Trinidad schoolgirls who reported they were kidnapped after sitting a CXC exam last Monday and were mysteriously released on Thursday. “all our investigations point to an ‘Ecstasy ring’ operating in the school where the girls leave and spend a while with men in an unknown place indulging in drugs and sex. “Since their release the girls have had the police on a merry-go-round, taking us all over the place from Freeport to Arouca to Trincity, then they claim they are not sure.
“If it continues like this we will probably have to charge them for wasteful employment of police time.” In their report, the girls claimed they were abducted after school, blindfolded, tied up and taken to a house in Freeport and later taken to another house at Bon Air Gardens, Arouca and then to another house in Trincity; from there they were released in Sunrise Park, Arouca on Thursday morning. Medical reports show that they were not molested. No ransom was ever demanded. Police, while following all the reports, have not had a full statement from the girls.
