PNM: Govt will pass Police Bills

THE People’s National Movement (PNM) yesterday wholeheartedly supported Government’s public campaign to lobby all quarters of the national community to support passage of the Police Service Reform Bills in Parliament and is confident that the Bills will be passed in the Senate on June 29.

Addressing the post-PNM General Council news conference at Balisier House, party vice-chairman John Donaldson said: “The party today in its general council congratulated the Government for its education programme to inform the national community about all that is involved in the Government’s desire to institute positive reforms at the level of the TT Police Service by improving its management structure. Because of the Government’s programme there is a lot of (public) discussion now.” Today, Prime Minister Patrick Manning holds anti-crime talks with business people in San Fernando while Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday will hold similar talks with business people in Port-of-Spain.
